Esperance is a fantastic spot to see whales from the shore.

Every year the southern Right Whales, Eubalaena australis, come and visit us in Esperance. They bring their calves to the safety of our shores and return year after year. 

They can be seen from about June untill October and  have been spotted all along the Great Ocean Drive, in the port and very close to shore at Castle Town Quays. This movie was shot at Thomas River in Cape Arid National park, East of esperance. We have been lucky to see up to 15 Whales Just off the shore here at one point.
